Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our corporate retreats, experiential team challenges, logistics, and planning your next African safari adventure.

🦁 1. Programs & Customization

What corporate team building programs does Tukio Adventures offer?

We offer 4 core flagship experiential programs designed for corporate and youth groups:

  • Team Building Challenges (1 Day • KES 4,000/pax): High-energy tactical problem-solving, strategic collaboration, and outdoor games.
  • Fun and Bonding Safari (1 Day • KES 3,500/pax): Trust building, active communication drills, relaxation, and reconnection.
  • Leadership Excellence (2 Days • KES 22,000/pax): Executive strategy drills, emotional intelligence workshops, and structured coaching debriefs.
  • 8 Habits for Teens / Youth Camp (3 Days • KES 25,000/pax): Youth leadership, character formation, and critical thinking outdoors.
  • Custom Executive Retreats: Bespoke overnight safari itineraries across Kenya's premier conservancies and lodges.
Can an itinerary be tailored to address our organization's specific challenges?

Yes, absolutely. Over 70% of our corporate engagements are custom tailored. Before each retreat, our lead facilitators conduct a briefing consultation (or review your online assessment submission) to diagnose your team's specific objectives—such as breaking down departmental silos, integrating newly hired personnel, managing change, or rejuvenating team morale.

What is the difference between an indoor conference and experiential outdoor team building?

Traditional boardroom seminars retain only ~15% of learning after 30 days. Experiential outdoor team building places teams in real-time problem scenarios where collaboration, empathy, and decisive leadership are immediately tested. By combining physical immersion with guided debriefs, participants retain behavioral insights that carry directly back into everyday office productivity.

🗺️ 2. Group Sizes, Venues & Logistics

What group sizes can Tukio Adventures accommodate?

We comfortably cater to groups ranging from 8 to 150+ participants:

  • Small Executive Cohorts (8–15 people): High-touch retreat facilitation and strategy sessions.
  • Standard Department Units (16–50 people): Dynamic team challenge courses and rotations.
  • Large Enterprise All-Hands (50–150+ people): Multi-squad corporate rallies with simultaneous field stations.
Which destinations in Kenya do you operate in?

We operate nationwide across Kenya's premier scenic, safari, and resort hubs:

  • Lake Naivasha & Elementaita: Acacia woodlands, boat safaris, Crescent Island, and serene lakeside lodges.
  • Nairobi & Surrounds: Karen, Tigoni tea farms, Ngong Hills, and Karura Forest outposts.
  • Amboseli & Tsavo: Majestic Mount Kilimanjaro views and big-game savannah wilderness.
  • Maasai Mara National Reserve: Exclusive conservancy camping, wildlife drives, and evening campfire debriefs.
  • Mount Kenya & Aberdares: High-altitude alpine trekking and canopy courses.
Do you arrange executive transport, lodge bookings, and park fees?

Yes. We provide complete end-to-end turnkey event management. This includes luxury safari Land Cruisers or executive coach transport, partner lodge accommodations, meal buffets, conference facilities, Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) park permits, and drone event photography.

Can you conduct activities at our company's preferred venue or hotel?

Yes. If your company has already secured a resort or conference venue, our mobile facilitation team will travel directly to your location with all required activity equipment, sound setup, and props.

🛡️ 3. Health, Safety & Facilitation

What is your Enterprise Risk Management & Medical Protocol?

We understand that corporate legal teams, multinational NGOs, and bank compliance committees require rigorous safety governance before signing travel liability waivers. We maintain four non-negotiable safety pillars:

  • 🚑 AMREF Flying Doctors Coverage: Every corporate participant is enrolled under AMREF Flying Doctors airborne emergency medical evacuation coverage with dedicated air ambulances and flight physicians.
  • 🦺 Certified Wilderness First Aid & CPR: Every event is staffed with certified Wilderness First Aid (WFA) and trauma-trained facilitators carrying advanced medical kits.
  • 🛡️ Comprehensive Public Liability Insurance: Fully underwritten Corporate Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance meeting Tier-1 bank and multinational procurement requirements.
  • 📋 Dynamic Risk Assessments & Site Audits: Terrain diagnostics, weather monitoring, and trail safety assessments conducted before every retreat, coordinated with certified Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) rangers.
Are physical challenges suitable for team members of varying fitness levels?

Yes. Our exercises are structured around mental strategy, communication, and inclusive roles rather than extreme athletic endurance. Every team role contributes to success—from strategists, navigators, and communicators to timekeepers. We readily adapt activities to accommodate pregnant staff, elderly team members, or individuals with mobility restrictions.

Who leads the facilitation sessions?

Our facilitator core has over 15 years’ experience working with Fortune 500 corporations, top Kenyan commercial banks, regional NGOs, and academic institutions across East Africa. All facilitators possess cross-cultural training and corporate debriefing expertise.

💳 4. Pricing, Invoices & Booking

How much does a corporate team building package cost?

Pricing depends on program duration, group size, and whether logistics (accommodation/transport) are included:

  • Day Packages: Starting from KES 3,500 – KES 4,000 per participant for full-day facilitation and equipment.
  • Overnight Retreats: Ranging between KES 15,000 – KES 30,000+ per participant including lodge accommodation, all meals, park entry, and facilitation.
  • Youth & Student Programs: Special group concessional rates available upon request.
How far in advance should we reserve our retreat dates?

We recommend reserving dates at least 3 to 6 weeks in advance, particularly for Q4 (October through December) and end-of-financial-year peak corporate retreat seasons, as lodge allotments and facilitator schedules book up rapidly.

What are your payment terms and invoicing options?

We issue official Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) eTIMS compliant tax invoices and accept direct corporate bank EFT transfers, RTGS, and official company checks. A 50% commitment deposit confirms the dates, with the balance due 7 days prior to event kickoff.
